As a Canadian citizen, you need a Canadian passport to travel abroad or to gain re-entry into the United States. You may already have one that is about to, or has already expired. You may renew your passport only if your current passport is valid or expired in the past one year, you were at least 16 years of age at the time of your previous application; the name on the application form is exactly as it appears on page 2 of the current passport; it must not have replaced a lost/stolen passport, it must not be damaged.
