AIP (Atlantic Immigration Program)

The new Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) has replaced the earlier Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP). Applicants can now submit your permanent residence application to the new program.

The AIP offers a pathway to permanent residence for overseas skilled workers and foreign graduates who wish to work and live in one of Canada’s four Atlantic Provinces, i.e.

Who can immigrate to Canada through AIP?

To immigrate to Atlantic Canada through AIP, you need to be either

  • a fresh graduate of a recognized post-secondary institution in Atlantic Canada, or
  • a skilled worker

You may be staying abroad or already be in Canada as a temporary resident.

The processing time of Atlantic Immigration Program is 12 months.

What is Fees for AIP?

The fee for AIP (Atlantic Immigration Program) starts from $1,365, i.e. the Processing fee ($850) and right of permanent residence fee ($515).

The program helps employers in Atlantic Canada recruit qualified applicants for jobs they have not been able to fill within the region. The applicants can be outside Canada or living in maple leaf country as temporary residents.

You must provide your test results from an approved language testing organization with your application. These results must not be older than two years.

Settlement funds

You must have sufficient funds to support yourself and your family when you arrive in the maple leaf country. The amount you require rest on on the size of your family. If you are already staying and working in Canada with a valid work permit, you do not require showing proof of funds.
