Atlantic High-skilled Program is a part of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP). Candidates can submit their application for permanent residence in the same region through this program.

Eligibility Criteria To Apply Under The AHSP

To apply for permanent residence under the Atlantic High-Skilled Program (AHSP), candidates need to fulfill the following requirements:

1. Job Offer:

AIPP is an employer-driven immigration program. There are some requirements that the job-offered must meet and they are as follows:

  • Job-offer must be made using the Offer of Employment to a Foreign National form.
  • The employer must be a designated employer of the Atlantic region in the Atlantic Immigration Pilot by the Atlantic Provinces.
  • Job-offered must be full-time work meaning a candidate have to work at least 30 paid hours of the week.
  • Duration of the job-offered must be of at least 1 year.
  • Job must be supported by a provincial certificate of endorsement.
2. Work Experience:

For work experience under this category, candidates should have worked for at least 1,560 hours and it must be non-continuous, full-time. Working hours can be inside or outside of Canada.

Some points to be taken care of:

  • The candidate must be able to perform the activities listed in the statement of the NOC description.
  • Candidates do not need to be employed at the time of applying under this program.
  • Self-employed working hours won’t be counted.
3. Education:

Candidates applying under this program must be having any of the following:

  • A Canadian secondary or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree.
  • For foreign individuals, they must have a foreign degree or certificate.

For applicants with an education completed outside Canada, an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) is required in order to prove that the level of education is commensurate with Canadian standards.

4. Language Proficiency:

The candidate has to show their language proficiency in either English or French. The following language tests are approved for the AHSP:

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) — General test only.
  • CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program) — General test only.
  • TEF (Test d’évaluation de français).
  • Test de connaissance du français (TCF Canada)
5. Proof of Funds (POF):

Candidates need to show that they will be able to support themselves or any other accompanying family members while moving to Canada. The amount needed depends on the size of the family moving to Canada.
